'Hi Jim,

If I manage to find an affordable Argus I will definitely be in contact with you so I can try and put mine back to military spec. It's easy enough painting the exterior, but I would like the interior to be as original as possible too.

Regards,

Jon.

hello Jon & James
Although not for sale, My partner Bob and I are
rebuilding a UC-61K that has documented service
history qith the RAF. It flew as HB-690 mostly with
the A.T.A. but possibly with other RAF Units.
We are restoring our baby to full RAF miltary
specifications. If there is anything we can do to
assist in your quest(s) please do not hesitate to
contact us.
Thanks

'Hi Tom,

From looking at the immense amount of love and attention that you have put into your Fairchild I wouldn't want to insult you by making an offer. As I mentioned, ideally I am looking for a cheap one that needs work doing to it, rather than one that has had the full treatment!

The advert for Mr Olsen's Fairchild was what ignited my interest in acquiring one, as his was within my budget.

Regards,

Jon.

'Hi Jon

Nice to see that the RAF ARGUS is back on the stage
I think you will have some problems finding a ARGUS I in Europe
I have seen some picture from Australia thu
There are only 2 ARGUS I that I'm aware of (or rather 1½)in Europe.
It's FK338 at the Linconshire Air Museum and Mine,FK313
But mine as been tormented during the years and today is a mix
between Argus I and II.
And unfortunably mine is far from ready so you have to wait
until you see it Airworthy.

But I think Karl or Tony can answer that better than me

I would love to see an Argus I or II in full RAF paintscheme.

Good luck

Hi James,

Yes I have seen your Argus, rather close up. I was standing at Deenethorpe at the time next to the DC6 :-) Your father has also shown me around it, but I would love to get a trip in it sometime.

There are currently 4 Argus' on the British register, one of which it appears is based in Holland, and one it would seem is not currently airworthy.

If and when I find one I would love to do a display routine with you, I already have a display authorisation on lots of other aircraft. Check out www.classicflight.com to see what else I fly.

Regards,

Jon.
