Shock struts

Post by David Stroud »

'I'm looking for ideas for shock struts for my Fairchild 51 project and the idea crossed
my mind that possibly the Fairchild 24 struts could be beefed up for the job. My gross
is 4,000 lbs however so perhaps some scratch built struts might be in order. Does
anyone on the list have a junker strut that I could buy to disassemble and examine
the construction of it? I see that Tom Downey rebuilt most of his and perhaps I could
duplicate the process in a larger scale. Any ideas welcome. Thanks..
