prop problems

Post by Buhwana »

'I recently have noticed some peeling back of the fabric on my
Sensenich W86RA58 prop which is on a PT-19. What I mean is the last
8" or so of the prop tip is covered with fabric. Just aft of the
leading SS edge the fabric has been torn off (most likely rocks),
about the size of half of a dime. I can tell that air is getting
under the fabric as the prop swings and causing it to bubble up
further. Sensenich wants $750 for a full overhaul if I send it to
them. Anyone know of a prop shop that specializes in wooden props and
or how this might be salvaged. i do have pictures if anyone can help.

'Tom,

Most prop shops are not FAA certified to repair wood props. If they do, neck
is out. Best bet is to send it back to Sensenich. Will be just like new when
it comes back.

I recently have noticed some peeling back of the fabric on my
Sensenich W86RA58 prop which is on a PT-19. What I mean is the last

'Sensenich. Ask them about a cost for a replacement
prop and I'm sure that $750 is a very good deal.

'You might also try Guy Watson..Watson Propellers(the old Ole Fahlin shop).

I've not used him, but I think I asked him at one time whether he would
repair a Sensensich and he said he would.
