'I'm brand new to your group...is anyone interested in reminiscing about time spent flying early Fairchilds? I have time in the KR21, M62B, and nearly all the PT 19 variants. Also a very early flight with the barnstormer pilot whose name eludes my 82 year old brainbone, who flew the FC2W2 "Stars and Stripes" with Byrd at the South Pole and toured after they brought it home, Name was Harold ??? Nice fellow. Gave a long ride to a kid with only 50 cents.

As I joined the Fairchild Club to further my interest and research
into the history of M-62/PT-19 series I would be fascinated to hear
your reminisces, either via this message board or by private e-mail
(broadhurst@talk21.com).
Particularly interested in your experiences of the Warner-powered M-
62B. Where did you fly them, how did they compare to the standard M-
62A and have you a record of their N-regs?
Whilst the identities and the delivery/export dates of all 47 built
are available, I have little knowledge of where they were operated.
Twenty-five were exported to Chile and as far as I know the
remainder were used as part of the CAA Civil Pilot Training
Program.
I understand they may been used on a secondary course after students
had graduated from Cubs, Taylorcrafts and the like, beyond that I
have found little reliable information.
