'This may, or may not, get through after a week of hard disc crashes
and my ISP cutting me off into the bargain.
However, at 14:30 local on 9 March 2005, Rearwin Cloudster G-EVLE
(formerly NC25403 and c/no 803) took off on its first
post-restoration flight in the hands of Stuart Goldspink. Stuart is a
757/767 captain with tons of tailwheel time into the bagain including
original Sopwith Camel, original Nieuport 28, Jungmans, Jungmeisters,
Spitfires, Hurricanes, P47 and 6,500 hours of crop spraying. He
reported the Cloudster flew in trim and had a top speed higher than
we expected. The 145 Scarab ran very well and is giving 1000ft min
climb. Top speed is yet to be decided but is up around 140mph.
Although this is not a Fairchild several members of the group have
given time and advice and helped source parts and so a great big
thankyou to them.
Thought you'd like to kow.
