Re: Spark plugs
'Ranger Type Cert lists Champion C-26. The Champion catalog lists the
successor to the C26 as M41E. These are the unsheilded uses. The C26S
is essentially the sheilded version of the C26. Simple eh? The C26S
is replaced by current REM40E. Oviously the C26S is a non-resistor
(no R in prefix). These are all 18mm thread and 1/2" reach, therefore
this is the physical limits for selecting a plug. The C34S is 18mm
thread BUT it is for 13/16" reach applications (can you say "piston
damage"). The Ranger parts manual lists the C26S for 440-2,3,4,5. An
issue may be the harness threads at the top of the plug. Since the
C26S is replaced by the REM40E in could be assumed that the C26S had
the same 5/8 thread. That is the E in REM. An H would mean a 3/4
thread. The C26S has 4 electrode fingers doesn't it? REM40E has 2.
