'Alan-
I've been looking at your e-mail for some weeks, now. I have not thought about selling my airplane, but it's our first winter in Montana, and I'm finding few opportunities to fly it.
I MIGHT consider selling it.

It's one of the top 3 airplanes in the U.S. It was WWII Era grand champ antique at Oshkosh in '95 or '96. It was restored by Larry Beck, who won, I belive, grand champ custom antique for a Staggerwing 2 years ago. It is still in the same condition as it was when Larry restored it.

The airplane is pristine. It is a perfect reproduction, down to the old G.E. low freq. radio in the panel (non-operative). It has modern radios in the right side panel, but Larry Beck made a false panel to cover it up, and it looks exactly original when the cover is on.

Anyway, on and on and on. Everybody knows the aiplane - John Berendt, Jamie Treat, etc., and they can tell you all about it.

I am on a cruise, and happen to have hit an internet cafe when I saw your new message. I will be back home on 2/21. Give me a call if you have an interest, and I'll do some thinking about it between now and then.

To keep things above board and frank, the person from whom I bought it paid a record price for any F24, and I paid the second highest price ever. If you ever see the airplane, you'll understand why.

'Alan,

There are (were??) two round engine Fairchilds for sale in Idaho. Check
the Fairchild listings at www.barnstormers.com. I've seen both aircraft
and they are good looking machines. It's been a long time since the last
cover on the Ketchum aircraft but it looks very nice -- always hangered.

'Thanks Dan
I have talked to both people you talked about and are both nice
birds. It would be nice to sell my Stinson 108-3,I also have been in
contact with contacts I have made with the group and have talked to
about ten more people or more but it is still winter here in
Wenatchee, that has slowed the search to go and see them,My first
choice has been a UC-16 (orignal) with a Jake or Warner 165 but after
seeing all the 24"s out there it is getting harder and harder to find
the right one they all are great .Thanks a lot to the Fairchild group
they have been great help.Alan
