'Hello Everyone,
I am hoping one of you can help me with some information or
at least point me in the right direction. It concerns an old wooden
prop that is hanging on a wall at my mother's home. My mother's
second husband (like his father before him) worked at Fairchild
Republic in Hagerstown, Maryland until his death a few years ago. He
always told her that this prop came from a plane built by the Kreider-
Reisner Air craft Company, which Fairchild had bought years before.
What I am looking to do is to have this prop authenticated and if it
is the real deal donate it to a museum, if there is one for items
like this. Does anyone have any idea where I should start looking or
who I should contact?
Thanks,
Steve Moats

Re: Help needed with an old prop
'Hi Steve:
The first question is, are there any maker's names or numbers on the prop? As a "for example", a brand could be Sensenich, with a model number W72GK46, and a serial of AB1234 (Which happens to be the model # of a prop on a Piper I'm working on). Once you have a manufacturer and model number, post that info or email me and I will look for type certificate data to try to narrow down what airplane it fit on.

'What numbers are stamped into the prop?
Might be able to check the type certificate for a match.
