Hose clamps and a sewing machine.

Post by CarlMauro@aol.com »

'I've had the chance to help out Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome recently with a truck
load of dope and thinner given to me by the college at LaGuardia Airport.
While at the Aerodrome, I had a chance to see the Spirit of St. Louis that
Ken Cassens is building. One thing that he is looking for is hose clamps for
the fuel manifold. Since it is very visible they have to be correct. They are
heavy galvanized clamps with square knockouts or lightening holes that
tighten with a nut and bolt. He needs about a dozen. Any help?

Also, I found a sewing machine that I may lend or donate to the Aerodrome if
it is any good for sewing aircraft fabric. Heres the particulars; It's a
Singer Mod# 241-12. Ser #AG451886. It has a Formica top of about 2' X 4'.
Speed control on the left foot and a knee operated footlift on the right. It
has a 1/2 HP explosion proof motor and a wet sump with an oil pump. The
largest needle is a #22. It comes with various feet including an edge guide,
welting guide and another for multiple rows. It winds bobbins and has a rack
attached to the table which holds different spools of thread for quick
changes. It's a very heavy duty commercial machine that was once in a NYC
factory. I have no idea how old it is but I can say that it is in very good
mechanical condition.

Any thoughts?
