Whenever i talk with atc they always ask what type aircraft. I tell them fairchild F 2 4

50% of the time they will ask what the identifier is for it. I just say F 2 4 W. I knew it couldnt be right but hey sounded good huh? LOL. Anyway now I know

'Thanx for the reply. I ended up going to oreily auto parts. I told them i needed a reybestos MK1 rebuild kit. He cross refrenced it to another part # and had two kits in my hand in about 3 hours. I am going to order 2 more just to have in the future. But they are available still

'I just installed a concorde RG35-A. It is what I pulled out of the f24. No idea what the CCA is but it tirns over my W-165 with no trouble at all

I always plug in a battery tender when i put the plane in hanger. I did that with my Stinson and never had battery issues

'thanx for the response. I did some research and found that exact kit. I got it in the ol girl today and am going to test it tomorrow. I also put new tires and tubes on......WOW that was a pain in the ass!! Not having split wheels make it very tuff to do. Took me about 8 hours.
