Re: Fair Value

'We, EAA 1250, decided to inventory the 2nd aircraft and try to sell it as a whole project. That way, we'll be sure to have all the parts to finish the first aircraft.

This will take some time.

Fair Value

'What would be the ballpark fair market value of major F24 components like:

- Wings
- Fuselage
- Empennage
- Engine

Our project needs funding, and we being selling the above in serviceable condition. The airframe components would need to be inspected, electrically wired and covered with ...

Pitot Tube

'Anyone have photos of a pitot tube for an F24 or similar? Our F24 did not come with a pitot tube and we are fabricating one. Our documentation shows one on the left wing, about 18 inches long?

If no photo is available, a technical description including location, length and fittings would help ...

Re: Nav light

'See http://www.avliteaviation.com/
but be aware his prices are very high. He wanted to charge me $150 for a light bulb for a Grimes ST-250.
We are in a similar situation and need wing and tail light fixtures, glass and bulbs.for our F24.'

It looks like the previous owner used staples to hold down the wire bundle to the wood spar. Or do we use current AC part 43 practices?

They also routed wire within 1 inch of the fuel tank under the felt tank holder. Current rules prohibit ...

Re: Landing Light Switch Part Number

'Found it! After many hours of searching, I finally settled on a 4 pole double throw (AKA 4PDT) switch which can handle the huge inrush currents. Each pole is rated for 7 amp lamp load and since there are four poles, it can handle a 28 amp lamp load when I parallel the connections. Our landing light ...

Landing Light Switch Part Number

'Our local EAA chapter is restoring a 12 volt Fairchild F 24. Anyone now what modern make / model of switch is used to switch on incandescent bulbs, e.g. landing light. For example the parts list, for a 24 volt version, lists an AN3018 switch. However, currents are doubled in the 12 volt version: 15 ...

Battery Box

'Anyone have a photo of a 12 volt battery box for the round engine version? Our battery definitely gets mounted on the firewall, but the documentation shows it behind the baggage compartment. Thanks. Tim Drager, EAA Chapter 1250, Pottstown, PA.'
