F24 Cockpit Knobs
The F-24 had cockpit knobs fabricated out of Tan or Brown Bakelite back in
the day. Depending on which factory and local supply. Good quality Bakelite
is not available today. Russia has stock, but not the right color and
quality.
Jamie contracted with a local machinist to find a good substitute ...

Registration Challenges
We've had a number of bots signing up and (sometimes) posting junk posts to the board. We've added a Google reCAPTCHA to the signup process in an attempt to reduce the amount of manual moderator effort required. Hopefully, this will be both not too intrusive and also be effective. I'd really like to ...

Re: Forum Outage on Dec 20, 2021
Updates seem to have gone relatively smoothly. I don't think there should be any user-visible changes to the board itself, but if you see something wrong, please let us know.
One of the changes was to reconfigure how email is sent, which hopefully will cut down on the number of people who either ...

F24 Tailwheel Steering Springs
Does anyone have a source for suitable replacement springs for the steering cables on an F24? Mine seem to be getting a little weak.

Forum Outage on Dec 20, 2021
Hi all, the forum will be unavailable for a couple hours the morning of Monday, Dec 20, for upgrades. Assuming all goes well, the outage should be pretty short in reality.

Tailwheel boot installation
Would anyone be willing to post some pictures/measurements of their tailwheel boot and the support ring attach clips? My 24W-41A had a very home brew boot that, among other things, was attached using screws that rubbed against the tailwheel itself and damaged the outer tube (sigh). My attempts at ...

Email digests now available
We added the "Digests" plugin for PHPBB this week. With this change, there is a new "Digests" tab in your User Control Panel (click on your name in the upper right-hand corner) and you can get email summaries of new posts on the board. The digests are pretty configurable in terms of how often they ...

Re: tail wheel
I believe the original hubs are for a 10SC tire, which would have been a smooth tire. Which are crazy expensive today and don’t last long on asphalt (or so I am told). My 24W-41A came with the Russ Aircraft adapters (http://www.russaircraft.com/adapter.htm), letting me run a more common 10x4.0 ...
