Re: Kollsman RPM Indicator
Bart, Check out this outfit. They've been in business for 85 years and have experience in lots of WWII units. You've got nothing to lose; might be something simple in the gearing. Flying the Fairchild 24W
Hats off to Dave Hadfield, I just happened upon Dave's YouTube video "Flying the Fairchild 24W". Thought I had seen every F24 video there was, but I had missed one of the best. Dave, what a beautiful bird! Your production was very informative and well thought out. I've never seen an F-24 r...

Re: tail wheel
Good Day Javier, I have a 1937 F24 but it has been converted to a Scott tailwheel. I have no knowledge of the maintenance on an original tailwheel. I was told by a rebuilder of an 1946 F24 that on originals you should use the original type smooth SC tire and not the Scott type, which I think means t...

Re: F-24 shoulder harness
Jack,
I bought them on EBay. Can't recall the vendor's name. The pics from Bob's airplane look like the corrrect lead. I'll get a pic of mine next month and post it. Had some interior work done, so my placement of the leads could be incorrect.

Re: F-24 shoulder harness
Hi Jack, Five or six years ago I installed two five point harnesses with rotary buckle releases and self reeling shoulder straps for the front seats of my 24H. We left the bottom crotch straps off. The installation was quite easy as the A & P was able to attach the single Y leads for the shoulde...

Re: engine overhaul request
' Good Day John, Steve Bertrand here with 1937 F-24H NC12120. Presently has a C-2 175 hp motor. Are you rebuilding these to Zero SMOH and are parts readily available. I saw on Barnstormers where Bradley Ball is selling off his inventory, but I can't afford parts for 30 engines right now. I have...

' Good Day, What size diameter are your springs? The early models had 1.75 inch springs and the later had 2.25 inch. I have new springs in each size. Tom Downey in Washington State may be willing to fabricate new units. He does fabulous work. Steve b. On Friday, July 13, 2018, 12:23:36 PM EDT, d...

Re: A few parts needed for my PT-23
'These wheel bearing dust caps are readily available at R.V. service centers, where there will be a larger selection than at auto parts stores. Don't know what type axle or wheels you have, but just take a measurement and you'll be able to get a cap very close to what you need. You can modify the c...
