Instrument panel brackets
'I am still working on getting all of the instrument panel bracket in order. You can guess what king of luck I am having. I lost all of the recent E mails from those who wanted copies of them, got deleted. I tried to put them in a safe place, and ended up deleting about everything for the last 3 ...

Re: Instrument panel mount drawings
' I can do that. I finally found the OE drawings that I made. It is tough trying to remember everything about what I did. It was almost 20 years ago. But with what I can come up with, and the OE drawings, you can probably catch any mistakes that I have made. I am not sure about the material thi...

Re: Instrument panel mount drawings
'Tell me how all of this looks. You can look at all of the drawings and see very few dimensions, but there of one listed. I think that I remember that the mount area width is 1.54". I believe that is common to all of the mounts. You can copy the drawing to application and adjust the scaling...

Re: PT fuel tank gauge removal
' Just sitting here and reading the question, and it came to mind..... "FOR GODS SAKE, DON'T USE ANY HEAT". Even a tank that has not had gas in it for years will give you a BANG. Even an old car that has been sitting in the desert for 70 years will give you a bang. Gently pry it loose a...

Re: Pitot/static tube fabrication
' I think that I saw someone mentioned drilling tiny holes all the way through the static line. I think that mine had two sets of holes, maybe 1/4" apart, front to back and rotated 90 deg. apart. The end was plugged with a soft rivet turned down to match the tube diameter. I used the smalles...

Re: Fairchild 24 Cabin Air Ventilator
' I had the same problem that you have. Mine happened to be in a box with some engine parts that was stolen. About $2K in new Warner parts and several boxes of used parts that only had, at most, a couple 100 hours. I still had the wood blocks that clamped around the diagonal tube which was nice. ...

Re: PT-23 Shimmy
' After all that probable crap that I sent earlier. I would assume that you have the strut that uses 2 splines. You can see a line of rivets running up the front and rear of the out strut shell. The splines that are riveted to the inside. If you jack the tail completely off the ground, you can ...

Re: PT-23 Shimmy
' To tell you the truth, I don't know of a fix. My only guess is that somewhere down the line that you had someone put the fork from a F-24 on your tail wheel strut. I really don't know of a 24 that hasn't had a shimmy problem. One possible cure that I know of, is to not lubricate the bottom of t...
