Re: Nose rib drawings for PT wings.
'I found, in my collection of PT memorabelia, wing drawings from U.S. Army tech order 01-115GA-3 dated 6-43. I remembered that someone was asking for info so I made copies of about 20 pages that I will send to Mike Kelly of Coldwater, MI. He can forward them if I have chosen the wrong recipient. Nor...

Re: fairchild reunion
'Hi rottenchild38 I also have a 38 f-24, with a ranger engine, that makes terrible static that no one around here seems able to fix. Is your F-24 a short nosed plane. Mine is and I understand that there are not many of the short nosed ones around. I have decided to take off the generator and have ne...

Lost hubcap and snap-ring
'I flew my 38 F-24 after a very thorough annual and when I was winching it into the hangar, I saw that the hubcap and snap ring on the pilot side main wheel was missing. The A&P said that he remembers installing it. We looked up and down the runway area and did not find them. I neglected to noti...

Re: Warner engine weights
'Dave I made a mistake by calling my 39 F-24 a short nosed one. It is not. I have a 1938 F-24 that is a short nosed model with a 175 Ranger. Sorry Norb Mc Luckie ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Stroud" To: Sent: Saturday, May 08, 2004 7:29 AM Subject: [fairchildclub] Warner engin...

Re: Warner engine weights
'Hi David I am rebuilding a 1939 F-24 short nose that has a 225 hp Jacobs that was installed many years ago. I am not ready to do weight and balance so I cannot offer any thoughts on the subject. This plane probably has not flown in over 20 years and it will be over a year before I get it ready. Nor...

Re: Fuel valve for 1938 F-24K
'Hi James Thank you for the reply to my request. It sounds like the valves that you have will fit the 1939 F-24W that I am rebuilding. It has a 225 hp Jacobs on it. The wings and surfaces are covered and painted. I have to paint the fuselage and landing gear. I am afraid to tackle the panel and elec...

Fuel valve for 1938 F-24K
'The fuel valve on my F-24K has siezed up and we cannot find a replacement. It is mounted in the center of the instrument panel. It is 3 position: left, right and off vertically in the center. I thought that I might find some reference to it on the disc for engineering data, but I guess I'm not smar...

Trip to England
'It suddenly dawned on me that when I go to Scarborough, tomorrow, that there might someone in that vicinity that has a Fairchild F-24 or UC 61. I plan to be there for about a week but will not have access to a computer after 6pm (UK time) on 9/11/03 so I will miss any replies sent after that. What ...
