'I am flying a PT-19 for a friend. What oil level do you find that works best. When I bring it up to 4gal cold, it ends up everywhere. The owner says he thinks it needs 4gal cold but I think that is wrong. He is old and dosn't remember where the plane runs best.

In dealing with a sick 440, I found 2 broken valve springs. Both on the
#2 cyl. Upon dissambly I saw the cam dosnt ride on all of the journals
correctly. I do believe it needs a line bore and after running a strait
edge ...

'I centered both mag indexs prior to pulling the mags and did not move
the prop . After mag overhaul, I restabbed and it worked well for the
right but not Quite correct with the left. I would like to find out
how to verify the engine is at 25 degress BTDC and try and stab the

'Hey, I want to check the timing on the mags of a buddys PT-19. He
has the 200 hp 440. The 3 manuals he has for the pland have no info
