e-80 diagram

'I have the Essco overhaul manual for the E-80 starter but it is devoid
of parts diagrams. Anyone here have a link to some diagrams for this
starter?

Thanks
Mike'

E-80 Starter

'About once a year I have to remove my E-80 and send it off to have it
de-oiled and the clutch adjusted. It just starts slipping badly.

Anyone here familiar enuf with the starter to point me to a guide for
performing the work myself? My aircraft is experimental so yellow tags
are optional ...

Strut assembly

'I've researched the message files and can't find a source showing how
to assemble the shocks. My Great Lakes uses PT-19 shock dampers that
were shortened to accomodate the airframe. I recently removed the
struts because they were leaking and what I found inside just didn't
look right ...

oil-air separator

'I have a 3/4" NPT plug on the top-rear left-hand corner of my cam box
(on the top) that I'm considering using for the return line for a
separator. I don't know what that tap was originally used for but,
since this is an experimental installation, would this be a good
location for the return ...

E-80 o'haul

'Rats! I lost the contact I had from years back - an outfit recommended
by Al Ball to work on the clutch on my E-80 starter.

As I recall they were in California and they degreased and adjusted the
clutch and shipped it back for $75.

It needs the treatment again. Anybody out there know what ...

mogas

'Anyone running a Ranger on mogas? I don't know about any STC's but mine
is on an experimental and I'd like to know if this is a viable option.

Thanks,
Mike Danielle'

Ranger Mods

'New to the group, gentlemen.

I'm looking for details of the piston and cylinder head mods for
reducing oil consumption in the Ranger engine. I thought they might be
in the club's CD but John says they're not.

Anyone here who can help me get the specs?

Thanks,
Mike Danielle'

Scott tailwheel installation

'I need to get a copy of the installation manual for the Scott 3200
tailwheel. Apparently Scott Aviation has sold the tailwheel business
to someone else. Anyone out there able to help me?'

Exhaust Stud nuts

'During my last engine removal, I had one of the exhaust stud nuts
seize and strip. These are the deep brass nuts that hold the exhause
flanges on.

Does anyone here know of a source?

Thanks,
Mike in Oregon'

MOGAS

'Would be interested in hearing from members who are using mogas in
their Rangers. My newly overhauled Ranger is a gem and I don't want
to wreck it but I've heard many folks are using mogas with success.
Needless to say, there's economics in play here. What's 100LL going
to go for next year ...
