'Dave,

If the main bearings and ball bearing are good, this will work.. I've
done this on a couple of engines where customer wanted a positive seal..

Remove the plate, add material, machine bore of plate to hold an oil
seal..Remove oil slinger, remove angle and replace.. Probably surface ...

Engine crankshaft stroke is 5.5 inches..

Engine running at 2200 RPM..

1 minute piston travels 24,200 inches, 2016 feet

1 hour piston travels 1,452,000 inches, 121,000 feet..

1 hour piston travels 22.9 miles..

Piston travel never crossed my mind until last night ...

I checked into this several years ago with Hastings engineering..

The width of the automotive ring is about .0155 thicker.. The groove
may be deep enough to accept .031 thousands more ring, I don't know
either way, as I didn't go any farther..

passing the week I finished the engine..

After reaching a settlement with the estate, I sold the engine.. I have
the accessory items listed below ...

'Make up an Aeroquip hose for each size, connect hoses using a AN919-
fitting. Don't remember hose size..
