'Hi Dan,
Yes, I have a Warner 145 on the nose. It would be difficult to
install the 165 on the 24-G because the mounting holes are different and the engine
mount is part of the airframe.
The paperwork on my F-24 for the Aeromatic 220 was the FAA MAJOR REPAIR
AND ALTERATION FORM in 1960. You ...

'Hi Dan,
Glad you were well insured and also not hurt.
I have a 1937 Fairchild 24-G. It has a aero-matic prop. It gets off quick
and has a great climb. It cruses at 110 to 115 mph at 1850 rpm. I like it.
I have a tail wheel lock operated from the cockpit. The thing I like most
about it ...

Re: F-24 Wings
'Tom,
I restored mine in 1980. There were plywood leading edges on the wings
and I replaced with new plywood. Never heard of metal leading edges on
Fairchilds.

Re: Prop nuts
'Melvyn,
I just remembered that a friends widow gave me a small box of 90hp Warner
parts.
I told her I would sell them for her if someone needed them. I looked and
there was a nut for a taper shaft. It is listed in my 1998 parts price list for
$25.30.
(I used to sell parts)

'Melvyn,
According to the Warner engine parts list book.
Part no. 7226, Nut - Prop Hub (Tapered Shaft only)
Two places you might try for a part are,
Harman Dickerson, 573-449-6428
John Duncan, 719-481-4115.
good luck

If your cyl. base studs are factory mfg. studs, they are 3/8-24 + .005

(They probably did the +.005 so you couldn't use just any nut.)
They are also hardened to about r/c 30 if I remember right. (probably because

Re: Spark Plug Bushing
'Dear Mike,
If you are unable to use the bushing when you get the plug out of it, call
John Duncan, 719-481-4115. He may have some. If not, let me know. I have an
extra one I have been saving that I could let go.
Sincerely,
George Olson'
