Re: PT-19 Brake Bladders.
'I seem to recall a really good write up on the PT brake conversion in an issue of the Fairchild Flyer many years ago. As has been described here, use 310 wheels and one of the two puck 210 or similar brake assemblies. Three puck 310 brakes are way more than needed.I have a 2 puck system on my Cess...

'It's the 1173 you want. The 1174 is for intercoms and doesn't fit on the stick. Lance Aircraft has those. They have some other multi button ones. Maybe you could combine them to create a single button using the blank cap? On Fri, Oct 25, 2019, 12:02 PM Curt Kinchen wrote: Check on eBay. There ...

'Check on eBay. There used to be some surplus places like Banaire that carried them too. There's probably boxes of them hiding somewhere! I haven't looked in awhile. On Fri, Oct 25, 2019, 8:55 AM Ranchaero Wing Shop david@ranchaerowingshop.com [fairchildclub] wrote: Thanks Curt. Do you know wher...

Re: Fairchild PT-26 Metal Seats Wanted!!!
'Look around for AN 7505 seats. As you probably know, early PT seats were made by many manufacturers and a variety of materials including stainless, wood and aluminum. Ultimately they settled on a spec for the aluminum seat. They are pretty much universal across all the PTs, BTs, WW2 fighters, et...

'Surplus NAF 1173-1 or 1174-1 with the single trigger switch work well and still allow use of the control lock. I don't recall for sure, but it might require moving the stick to the side and bring it into the lock from the front. On Thu, Oct 24, 2019, 1:20 PM Ranchaero Wing Shop david@ranchaerowing...

Re: PT fuel tank gauge removal
'Google around for the answer. Filling with argon will inert the tank by expelling any fumes. I would probably pressure wash it first as well. Also have heard of using bits of dry ice to do the same thing as the argon. On Wed, Oct 9, 2019, 12:11 PM Robert Etter robertetter@ymail.com [fairchildclu...

Re: PT leaky fuel valve
'You are right. The cork is the seal. On the larger T-6 valves they made a plastic replacement "cork". I don't think that's ever been done for the small valves. I've had some success with liberal application of fuel lube. The old style really thick waxy type is probably better than the...

'I installed a Lynx L3 NGT 2000 in/out. They have the simplier version, the 1500, that is out only. I like it a lot. Remote install. If you have a Garmin 327 transponder it was designed to interface with it and is straight forward wiring. It will work with other transponders, but you can pick up...
