Re: Timing the Warner

'Just for my information. Could you tell me more about these mags? I have
friends running Rangers and one with a Gypsy Major.

Thanks, Carl

Re: 24W Rigging

'Bob, Some planes have their right wing set at a higher angle of incidence then the left. This is to offset the left turning tendency. Also on some the crankshaft is not aligned longitudinally with the airframe for the same reason. And the vertical stab too. Make sure everyone is on the same page as...

Re: engine stopped on roll out

'Remko, Here's my 2 cents. My guess would be to pull the carb and clean the crap out of it. 600 hours is how many years ago? It sure doesnt take very much to clogg the idle circuit, which would explain why it runs ok above 1000RPM. As you leave idle the main jet takes over. Try to figure out the mod...

Re: warner 145 on Barnstormers for under 1oK

'Hi Melvin, Things around here are great for some but not so good for others. My wife and I do pretty good but there is still not too much disposable income to dispose of. I work in Mt. Kisco, NY which is very close to Chappaqua where Hillary resides. Porsch SUV's clog the streets like VW Beetles di...

'Let me ask you MH, with the Pound close to being worth double the Dollar.
What do Brits think about vacationing over here? A Brit can have a real nice
flying vacation on the cheap. Everything is 1/2 off!

Anyone got a Ranger Engine?

'I was speaking to the director of maintenance at Cole Palen's Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. They have a nice F24-R sitting in the hanger, sans engine. If they could get their hands on an airworthy Ranger then the plane would be put on the flight line. The engine that came with it have been re-inverted a...

Dynamic Prop Balancing

'Has anyone read the article about dynamic prop balancing in this months AOPA? I am interested in getting a feel from the group about me making a business out it. The area of vibration analysis seems completely ignored (by GA) in my area. I am recent A&P who's entering this arena mid-life with t...

Hose clamps and a sewing machine.

'I've had the chance to help out Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome recently with a truck load of dope and thinner given to me by the college at LaGuardia Airport. While at the Aerodrome, I had a chance to see the Spirit of St. Louis that Ken Cassens is building. One thing that he is looking for is hose clamps...
