I dismembered it and used some valve grinding compound (fine) that I had and cured it in about 20 minutes. Maybe you have a bigger leak ...

'Yeah, I had something similar on mine with the spring loaded clips on the struts and the arrow shaped for inserting into the clips on the doors. They didn't hold worth a darn so I took them off. They look like bathroom medicine cabinet door holders.

They are pretty easy to check generally with an analog VOM.
