Push the stupid button ....
 So, there I was, flying in the air with the greatest of ease ... or so I thought. I had gone up to Minnesota to visit family. My brother Steve wasn’t looking so good and he said he always wanted to fly in my airplane. So, I figured I’d better get up there and see him before anything happens. ...

Re: tail wheel
Cameron Grossl rebuilt my tailwheel assembly. He did a great job and so far, it appears my shimmy is gone. I have the 10.00 SC tire, which is what came with the airplane. Hopefully, I won't see any shimmy any time soon.

Oil Leakage
I've been on a couple long trips lately and I usually use 1.5 - 2 Qts/hour. I flew from New Mexico to Tennessee for a fly-in. It was quite a haul there and back, and the only real issues I had was learning that I had to run it lean most of the time or I'd get back mag checks on the run up. Gotta kee...

Re: Beech Electic Prop
Any?? Are there limits on age or whether the prop may have already been obsoleted?
Any info would be great.

Re: Landing Gear Bolts
Went with the standard bolts ... but, I'm dealing with prop issues at the moment so I'm grounded anyway. However, although its taken about a month and a half, I am heading down this weekend to get the repairs done and get her back in the air!

Re: Unknown Ranger v-p prop
Yes, that is the "Jack Plate" and "diaphragm" for the "Hyro-Seletive" prop drive for the Hartzell propeller system. Are you thinking about buying it, and if so, what will you put it on?

Re: Beech Electic Prop
I own the other Ed Wegner-restored F24 - NC25323. Just purchased. Much to learn. I saw a Beech electric for sale on barnstormers recently. I still have the Aeromatic. I also have 2 new blades, but unless I find a shop to restore my hub and replace blades, it may not do me any good. If anyone ever f...

Landing Gear Bolts
It was suggested that the landing gear bolt should be replaced with a hardened bolt so that the gear won't shear. I supposed either it will shear the bolt and the fuselage will come down, or the bolt won't shear, and I'll bend the fuselage? What are some opinions on this and where can I get bolts wh...

Re: Hartzell prop/hub assembly replacement
I'm having similar but somewhat different issues. I have the F24R; N81306 with the Hartzell HC-12X20-8C / 8428 Prop/Hub assembly with the diaphragm behind it for an adjustable prop pitch mechanism. I had leading edge damage to the prop and couldn't find anyone to work on the prop (Phenolic) or the h...
